Ros-Lehtinen Says Iranian Missile Tests Confirm Need to Act Now

(WASHINGTON) – U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Ranking Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, commented today on reports that Iran tested its most advanced missiles over two days of war games. Statement of Ros-Lehtinen:

“The Iranian threat to global security long ago became dire. After being caught red-handed concealing yet another underground nuclear facility, the regime in Tehran has increased its provocative actions by testing Iranian ballistic missiles that place Israel, United States military personnel, and parts of Europe within striking distance.

“These were the same missiles which will likely be outfitted with nuclear weapons should the regime acquire such capabilities.  It is clear what Iran’s intentions are.

“Yet, world leaders are failing to act with a sense of urgency, emboldening the regime and providing Tehran more time to further develop its nuclear, missile, and unconventional weapons capabilities.

“The U.S. and other countries must impose debilitating sanctions on Iran if Tehran refuses to immediately stop its destructive policies.”
