Ros-Lehtinen, at Jerusalem Conference, Speaks on Threats to Jewish State

(WASHINGTON) – U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Ranking Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, spoke today to the Jerusalem Conference about threats to Israel for a segment entitled “Jerusalem: Protecting Its Remarkable Past and Future.”   Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:

“When I travelled to Israel this summer, I discussed with Israeli leaders the threats facing our two countries, and reaffirmed to them that Congress stands four-square in support of Israel’s right to exist – as a Jewish state – in peace and security.

“From the multi-faceted threats of Iran and Syria, to violent militant extremists in Gaza and elsewhere, to the UN’s endemic anti-Israel bias reflected in the ‘Goldstone Report,’ Israel continues to be targeted by forces of hate and destruction.

“But through it all, Israel continues to stand for peace, and Jerusalem continues to stand as Israel’s united capital, where people of all faiths can worship freely, in peace and security.

“I was honored to speak today to this group of individuals committed to a strong, secure, and prosperous future for the democratic, Jewish state of Israel.”
